Why We Updated Our Box Logos (and What’s Staying the Same)
When we first launched The Busy Box, we were laser-focused on what was inside the box. Activities that actually worked. Crafts that felt doable but exciting. A magical story that kids could follow month after month. We cared more about glue sticks and googly eyes than graphic design.
So the original logos? Let’s be honest… they were more placeholder than polished.
But now, with more families joining us every month, and The Busy Box starting to feel like something much bigger than we ever imagined, we felt it was time to give our logos the attention they deserved.
Something new, something familiar
We didn’t want to lose the charm. We didn’t want a glossy, over-designed brand that felt too grown-up or too far from what The Busy Box is really about, creative play, imagination, and the joyful chaos of making stuff with your hands.
So we made small changes that mean something.
The Little Explorer Plan now features a compass, a symbol of discovery and adventure. It reflects the curiosity we see in younger children as they start to explore textures, colours, and ideas. It also happens to match perfectly with how kids interact with this box: no rules, just guided wandering through creativity.
The Curious Creator Plan now carries a cog, something to turn, build, tweak, and tinker with. It speaks to how older children start thinking in new ways. They're still imaginative, but they’re also experimenting and making sense of how things work. That’s what the 3 to 6 age group does best.
We kept the fonts simple, playful, and friendly. The colours still feel like us. And of course, Boxy’s still front and centre. Wouldn’t be right without him.
A consistent feel from box to blog
Updating the logos was part of something we’ve been working on quietly in the background, making sure everything across The Busy Box feels like part of the same world.
You’ll notice the same visual style popping up in:
Activity instruction cards
Boxy’s Sticker Quest chapters
The Busy Blog
Our party bags
The Little Explorer Box, Curious Creator Box, and Sibling Box
Consistency helps kids recognise what they’re receiving. It builds excitement, trust, and familiarity. And for parents, it just makes everything feel that bit more thoughtful and put-together.
This is just the beginning
We’ve got ideas bubbling away for how Boxy evolves through the story and how the designs will grow alongside them. We’re thinking about character pins. Special edition stickers. Maybe even a map of Crafteria one day.
The new logos are just one small part of a bigger plan, one where everything feels like it belongs together.
We might not have it all figured out, but we know what we want to protect: creativity, simplicity, and the magic that happens when a child opens a box and says “ooh, what’s this?”
Thanks for being part of it.
