  • Founder & Chief Imaginator

I’m Scott, dad of two, former police sergeant, and now the guy who somehow turned a cardboard box into a storytelling sidekick called Boxy. I started The Busy Box with a simple goal: give kids something hands-on and magical to do that doesn’t involve a screen… and ideally gives parents a moment to drink a hot cup of tea.

Before launching this, I spent years in frontline roles juggling investigations, paperwork, and caffeine dependency. That world taught me how much we all need support, especially parents trying to keep kids engaged, learning, and off the iPad. So I built something that makes that just a little easier.

The Busy Box is more than glue sticks and stickers (though yes, we have a lot of both). Each box is part of a bigger adventure, literally. I write the ongoing story behind Boxy’s Sticker Quest myself, weaving in the crafts your kids make so that their creations help drive the plot forward. It’s silly, it’s heartfelt, and I’m slightly too emotionally invested in the characters at this point.

When I’m not packing boxes or rewriting Gluebert’s dialogue for the fifth time, you’ll find me being bossed around by my daughters, making a fuss of my whippet named Blue, or pretending not to check website analytics at 1am.

Thanks for supporting this little cardboard dream. And if you’re reading this because you’re curious - Boxy says hi.

A professional seamstress by trade and a lifelong lover of all things crafty, she’s the hands (and heart) behind much of the magic in our Busy Boxes. From stitching to sticking, Sue’s brilliant ideas and expert touch help bring each box to life, packed with love, fun, and just the right amount of sparkle.

What We’re All About

We started The Busy Box with a simple aim, to make magical, screen-free moments for kids, and give parents a little breather in the process. Not hours of prep, not tiny bits of plastic, not crafts that end in tears. Just thoughtful, creative play delivered to your door every month.

We believe childhood should be full of curiosity and creativity.

Every box we send out is designed to feel like a little adventure. The kind of adventure where your child builds a jellyfish, earns a sticker, and helps a talking box on an epic quest, all before lunch. We’re not just ticking educational boxes; we’re giving kids something to be proud of, and something fun to look forward to.

Our activities are crafted with care, tested on real children (our own), and built to support development in a way that actually feels like play. Whether it’s encouraging fine motor skills, boosting confidence, or inspiring wild ideas, everything we do is centred around helping children grow, not just stay busy.

We keep things simple, sustainable and meaningful. No batteries. No stress. No two boxes the same. Just stories, stickers, and the kind of joyful mess that feels totally worth it.

We're a small, family-run business with big dreams, and we’re incredibly proud to be part of so many households' monthly routines. Whether you’re here for a one-off box, a subscription, or some party bag magic, welcome to The Busy Box.

Let the adventure begin.
