The Busy Box Wins Silver at the Junior Design Awards 2026!

We have some very exciting news from Busy Box HQ...

The Busy Box® has won SILVER for Best Subscription Box at the Junior Design Awards 2026! 🥈

Yep. Our little box of crafts, creativity and adventures is officially an award-winning children's subscription box.

And Boxy is taking the news remarkably well. Mostly.

Earlier this year, The Busy Box Little Explorer & Curious Creator Box was selected for the Junior Design Awards 2026 shortlist in the Best Subscription Box category. The official shortlist followed the first stage of judging, with Junior saying the selected entries had impressed its editorial team and made it through the first round.

Now, we're incredibly proud to be able to replace that Shortlisted 2026 badge with something even more exciting:

It's a huge milestone for The Busy Box and something that means an enormous amount to us.

What are the Junior Design Awards?

The Junior Design Awards, run by Junior Magazine, have been celebrating children's brands, products and design for 15 years. Junior describes its winners' logos as being internationally recognised as a badge of excellence, which makes seeing that Silver badge alongside The Busy Box feel pretty special.

The awards span children's fashion, toys, gifts, interiors, lifestyle products and more, with dedicated categories recognising products designed specifically for children and families.

For a growing independent children's brand like ours, being recognised among the Junior Design Awards winners is something we're extremely proud of.

What makes The Busy Box different?

The idea behind The Busy Box has always been simple.

We want to make it easier for parents and carers to create meaningful, screen-free time with their children, without having to spend hours searching Pinterest, buying individual craft materials or preparing activities beforehand.

Each themed Busy Box is designed to turn opening a parcel into the beginning of an adventure.

Inside you'll find creative, hands-on activities designed to encourage children to make, explore, imagine and learn. Our activities are supported by simple instructions for grown-ups, while Boxy's Sticker Quest adds an ongoing story and sense of adventure that continues from box to box.

For children, it's about having fun.

For grown-ups, it's about having everything ready to go when you need it.

And behind all of that is something we care deeply about: giving children more opportunities to use their hands, their imaginations and their creativity away from a screen.

More than just a craft box

We never wanted The Busy Box to feel like a collection of random craft kits dropped through the post.

We've worked hard to create a world around it.

There's Boxy, our slightly overenthusiastic cardboard adventurer. There's the ever-expanding world of Crafteria. There are themed monthly adventures, characters, stories, collectables and activities that give children a reason to wonder what might be coming next.

At the same time, the activities themselves help children practise skills including fine motor control, concentration, creativity, problem solving and independent thinking.

That combination of creative play, storytelling and screen-free family time is at the heart of everything we do.

So receiving a Silver Junior Design Award for Best Subscription Box feels like a lovely recognition of just how far that original idea has come.

From a little idea to an award-winning kids' subscription box

Building The Busy Box has involved a lot of cutting, sticking, designing, testing, packing, rewriting, changing our minds, changing them back again and wondering whether Boxy really needs another adventure.

Spoiler: he always does.

But every box that leaves us goes to a real family.

Every picture we're sent of a child proudly holding something they've made, every review, every returning subscriber and every message telling us that a Busy Box bought someone half an hour of peaceful creative time is a reminder of why we started.

The Busy Box is now a Junior Design Awards Silver winner, but the reason it exists hasn't changed.

We want to make creative time with your children easier.

And much more fun.
