The Busy Box® Shortlisted for Best Subscription Box at the Junior Design Awards 2026 🏆
The Busy Box® Shortlisted for Best Subscription Box at the Junior Design Awards 2026 🏆
We’ve been keeping something rather exciting under our cardboard lid...
The Busy Box® has been shortlisted for Best Subscription Box at the Junior Design Awards 2026!
And when we say shortlisted, we really mean shortlisted.
Just two subscription boxes have made the 2026 shortlist in our category, and The Busy Box is one of them.
Yep. We’re going to need a moment. 😳
What are the Junior Design Awards?
The Junior Design Awards are annual awards run by Junior Magazine, celebrating outstanding products, brands and design from across the baby and children’s industry.
Now in their 15th year, the awards cover everything from toys and children's fashion to books, gifts, family products and subscription boxes.
Entries are initially reviewed by the Junior editorial team, who decide which products make the coveted shortlist. Shortlisted products then move on to the main judging process, where they are considered by a panel of industry experts and external judges.
So this isn't a case of asking all our friends to click a voting button 600 times.
Our box actually had to impress the judges.
No pressure, Boxy.
The Busy Box shortlisted for Best Subscription Box 2026
We're incredibly proud that The Busy Box® has been shortlisted for Best Subscription Box in the Junior Design Awards 2026.
And there's something that makes it even more exciting.
Only two brands appear on the shortlist for Best Subscription Box:
Pahu Play and The Busy Box®.
Seeing our name there was a slightly surreal moment.
The Busy Box was created to make meaningful, screen-free play for children aged 1-6 easier for families.
Our monthly children's activity subscription boxes take away the searching, shopping and preparation and replace it with that magical moment when a child opens their box and immediately wants to discover what's inside.
What started as an idea has grown into monthly adventures through Crafteria, with themed activities, Sticker Quests, stories, rewards and, of course, Boxy getting himself into increasingly questionable situations along the way.
And now that little cardboard character has somehow made his way into the Junior Design Awards 2026.
We're ridiculously proud of him.
What makes The Busy Box different?
The Busy Box isn't simply a collection of craft supplies delivered through the letterbox.
We design the whole experience.
Each month, children receive a new themed adventure packed with screen-free activities, crafts and creative play, with different boxes designed for children at different stages between the ages of 1 and 6.
Activities are chosen to encourage skills including fine motor development, sensory exploration, imagination, problem-solving and confidence, while still remembering the most important bit:
it needs to be fun.
Each month also continues Boxy's Sticker Quest, turning individual activities into part of a bigger adventure through the world of Crafteria.
And while the children are busy helping Boxy...
the grown-ups get something rather important too:
Everything is already planned.
No last-minute Pinterest searches.
No discovering you're inexplicably missing one googly eye.
No buying seventeen different craft supplies to make one thing.
Open box. Start adventure.
That has always been the idea behind our UK kids' activity subscription boxes.
Why being shortlisted means so much
Of course we'd absolutely love to win Best Subscription Box 2026.
We're not going to pretend otherwise.
There will be some fairly aggressive finger-crossing happening at Busy Box HQ over the next few weeks. 🤞
But being selected as one of only two shortlisted subscription boxes already feels like an enormous achievement for our growing UK business.
It means something we've designed, developed, packed and obsessively tweaked has been recognised by people who spend their lives looking at children's products.
That's pretty special.
More importantly, it feels like recognition of the idea that started The Busy Box in the first place: making it easier for families to spend more time playing, creating and learning together without a screen.
When will the Junior Design Awards 2026 winners be announced?
Now comes the difficult part...
we wait.
The Junior Design Awards 2026 winners are due to be announced in mid-September 2026.
We'll be watching very closely to see how The Busy Box gets on in the Best Subscription Box category.
Whatever happens, you can be absolutely certain that Boxy will make an unnecessarily big deal out of it.
Thank you for helping us get here ❤️
There wouldn't be a Busy Box without the families who choose to bring our adventures into their homes.
Every subscription, recommendation, review, Instagram tag and photo of a proudly completed activity has helped our small business grow.
When you're a small business, those things aren't small.
So whether your family has been following Boxy's adventures for months or you've only just discovered The Busy Box®:
thank you.
You helped put The Busy Box on that shortlist too.
Now...
COME ON BOXY! 🏆📦
